I help people make important decisions on an informed basis with the future in mind.

What's next for you professionally?

To continue developing and evolving as an adviser.

What's the best piece of advice you've ever been given?

One of my favourite phrases is ‘We are what we repeatedly do. Excellent, then, is a habit not an act’. It is very empowering to know that you can become good at anything if you simply spend time and energy on it.

What's an experience with a client that's stuck with you?

There are so many. Good advice is life changing. Anytime I’ve been able to give people the confidence to retire is always a special moment. It is normally far sooner than they expect.

How did you start off in your career?

I had a graduate role at RBS within insurance. It was very purely focused on insurance and I wanted to develop a broader skill set.

What's your area of expertise?

Supporting people when they have a major change of circumstance or life event. For example, divorce, sale of a business, retirement, inheritance, death of a loved one, big promotion etc. I guide people through these events on a daily basis.

Where do you get your inspiration to embrace what's next?

Change is exciting. I always look for opportunities to develop as a person, both professionally and personally.

What's your favourite thing about your role?

Meeting people. I never get bored of it.

What's next for you personally?

I have two young boys so doing the best I can with them is the primary focus outside of work.

Do you have a significant experience that your clients would want to hear about?

I have advised many family members on their finances, which comes with an extra layer of pressure!

Where's your favourite place to meet with your clients?

I like meeting in the office. It is well presented, which shows our respect to clients and our professionalism; we take their matters seriously.

When you're not at work, what's your favourite thing to do?

Spending time with the kids. Running and cycling.

Why does my role as a wealth manager matter?

Without guidance people can feel nervous about the future. I provide confidence, reassurance and ultimately happiness with the decisions they make. My role is to help people enjoy their wealth so they can spend time on the things they enjoy.
