How do you describe what you do?
I manage global multi asset portfolios for private clients and charities, and I am also the lead manager for the Multi Asset Fund (MAF) range. I am a member of the Asset Allocation Group (AAG) and chair of the Direct Investments Group (DIG).
What's next for you professionally?
The constant process of learning and adapting to markets and the world around us, which makes this role endlessly fascinating (if occasionally frustrating, as you never feel like you've mastered it).
How did you start off in your career?
I began as a graduate at Smith & Williamson in September 2005, spending six months in the back office processing asset transfers, before moving to the front office and doing a lot of exams. My history of art degree was suddenly not very useful...
What's your area of expertise?
Running multi asset portfolios, with global equities at their core. Within our equity research process, I have covered the global pharmaceutical sector since 2010.
When you're not at work, what's your favourite thing to do?
Spending time with my family, but when they don't want to see me... playing and watching cricket has been a lifetime obsession that remains undimmed.
