How do you describe what you do?
Investing is a means to an end. I listen to my clients; understand their goals and objectives; and help construct a portfolio for them that gets them to where they want to be as efficiently and effectively as possible.
What's next for you professionally?
I'm always thinking about how we can improve what we do, be it client experience, our investment approach or operational efficiency. What's next for me? Continued focus on my clients, but hopefully also delivering incremental value.
What's the best piece of advice you've ever been given?
Life isn't a journey - it's a piece of music. Inspired by philosopher Alan Watts, someone shared this with me a long time ago, and it has stayed with me ever since. There is no destination in life, instead its beauty lies in each note played.
What's your favourite thing about your role?
It's a wonderful confluence of two opposites - investment analysis and human connection. One day I’m deep in financial figures; the next I'm talking family over afternoon tea at a client's home. Few jobs offer such a balance, and I love both.
When you're not at work, what's your favourite thing to do?
My true passion is food and cooking. In the past I have run my own recipe blog and have hosted tasting menu supper clubs. For me there is simply nothing better than cooking for, and enjoying food with, friends and family.
