Professional Biography
My passion is people.
How do you describe what you do?
My passion is people. I become a trusted adviser for families by listening first, translating complex financial options into clear choices that provides them peace of mind and reduces stress so clients can concentrate on living the life they want.
What's next for you professionally?
We are entering a period of change driven by generational wealth transfer, digital transformation, and a widening advice gap. My focus is on embracing new technologies, so I can spend more time coaching clients and deepen long-term relationships.
How did you start off in your career?
My first role was with a Sun Life (now part of AXA) back in October 1987 as an administration clerk. I was in work for 2 weeks when the Black Monday Market Crash happened and markets fell by 20% in one day - which was nothing to do with me.
What's your favourite thing about your role?
Meeting people from all walks of life. I love finding out about their life journeys and what has shaped them as individuals. Everyone has a story to tell, and most are more than happy to share, generally warts and all!
When you're not at work, what's your favourite thing to do?
Watching my daughters play sport. My eldest is a competitive swimmer and my youngest plays Rugby League - just guess they are wired different. Oh, and playing Golf.
What qualifications and memberships do you have?
- Fellow of the Personal Finance Society
- Chartered Financial Planner
- European Financial Planner
