How do you describe what you do?

Associate Financial Planner at Evelyn Partners, training to advise clients independently while supporting senior advisers in the Newcastle office. I assist with financial planning tasks and client meetings.

What's next for you professionally?

Progressing towards chartered status. This involves gaining client-facing experience and building confidence in delivering holistic financial advice. I'll gradually take on my own client relationships, and develop bespoke financial plans

What's the best piece of advice you've ever been given?

Listen more than you speak—understanding your client’s story is the foundation of great financial advice

What's an experience with a client that's stuck with you?

Supporting a senior adviser during a meeting with a client who had just suffered a bereavement. Seeing how financial planning brought peace of mind during such an emotional time reminded me that our work is about people, trust, and empathy.

How did you start off in your career?

I initially started out as a mortgage adviser, but wanted to be able to help people more holistically, rather than just focusing on one area of their finances.

What's your area of expertise?

My area of expertise is cashflow planning—helping clients understand their financial position, forecast future needs, and make informed decisions. It’s a key part of building confidence and clarity in their long-term financial journey

Where do you get your inspiration to embrace what's next?

I’m inspired by the trust clients place in us, the mentorship I receive from experienced advisers, and the opportunity to grow into a role where I can make a meaningful difference in people’s financial futures

What's your favourite thing about your role?

I love being part of a client’s financial journey—helping turn complex goals into clear, achievable plans.

What's next for you personally?

Next for me personally is moving house with my young family. It’s a big step that brings both excitement and challenges. Looking forward to finally securing a forever home.

Where's your favourite place to meet with your clients?

I really enjoy meeting clients in our Newcastle office. It’s a comfortable, well-equipped space that encourages open conversation and helps build trust. It’s where meaningful planning begins.

When you're not at work, what's your favourite thing to do?

Spending time with the family. usually out for long walks and a cup of coffee by the coast.

Why does my role as a wealth manager matter?
