Professional Biography
What I love most is the variety—whether I’m exploring market trends or meeting clients, no two days are ever the same.
How do you describe what you do?
I help provide guidance and advice to individuals, families and other organisations on how best to structure and position their investments in order to achieve their lifelong financial goals.
What's next for you professionally?
As I approach the latter stages of my career, passing on my knowledge and experience to inspire younger colleagues and being front and centre with clients to reassure them that Evelyn Partners has the expertise to successfully manage their wealth.
What's the best piece of advice you've ever been given?
Be patient. You very rarely achieve your lifelong goals overnight. Do not underestimate the power of compounding over the longer term.
How did you start off in your career?
I joined the firm that would eventually evolve into Evelyn Partners in 1989. At that point in time, I had ambitions of becoming a foreign exchange trader in London and saw this as a foot in the financial door. The rest is history as they say.
What's your favourite thing about your role?
It is often said that variety is the spice of life and that is what I love about my role. Whether I am in the office trying to understand the latest market or economic developments or whether I am out visiting clients, no two days are ever the same.
When you're not at work, what's your favourite thing to do?
When not at work, I can be found either on the golf course or more likely on the curling rink. I was lucky enough to be selected to represent Scotland in the Strathcona Cup in 2023 which was a month-long curling Tour of Canada from West to East.
