How do you describe what you do?
I manage financial investments for families and their associated entities. I help to manage the investment team in Glasgow and Belfast.
What's next for you professionally?
I will coordinate the careful handover of my responsibilities to the next generation of investment managers. This will allow me to retire gracefully.
Where do you get your inspiration to embrace what's next?
From the young investment managers who are willing to apply enthusiasm to their work and embrace change. Without new talent, the business does not have a future.
What's your favourite thing about your role?
Seeing financial plans that we set in place years, sometimes decades, ago come to fruition.
Where's your favourite place to meet with your clients?
I have met clients in castles, crofts and caravans. Whether over a mug of tea at the kitchen table or sitting with the dog in the drawing room, if your client can see that you are comfortable in their home then they are more likely to trust you.
