Experience
Paul has 30 years’ experience helping a wide range of UK-based private clients find solutions to better manage their financial affairs, using a variety of tax-efficient investment related solutions.
He also acts for a number of non-UK domiciled and non UK resident individuals with similar issues.
He manages savings using fund-based investment solutions and advises on and manages the tax-efficient withdrawal of income from pensions and other investments on retirement, helping individuals devise appropriate strategies for doing so.
Notable achievements
- Sits on the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales’s (ICAEW) Private Client Tax and Financial Planning committees and chairs their Pensions working group.
- Represents the ICAEW at Treasury and HMRC meetings to discuss the implementation of changes to pensions policy.
- Speaks at seminars and conferences and writes for financial publications, co-authoring Managing your Investments for the LexisNexis publication Finance and Law for the Older Client.
Professional qualifications/memberships
A Chartered Fellow of the ICAEW (FCA), a Chartered Financial Planner and Fellow of the Personal Finance Society (FPFS), practising as an Independent Financial Adviser, a Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA) and a member of the Society of Trust and Estates Practitioners (STEP).
