Engagement vs Divestment – Eline Lofgren, Director at Evelyn Partners will re-visit and update the debate for charities, whilst talking about some recent interesting examples from the corporate world.

Claire Watson, Investment Manager at Evelyn Partners will then talk about how charities should look beyond traditional banking options to get the best returns on their cash reserves - from low-risk government fixed interest instruments to cash funds.

Finally, Emma Maxwell, Director at Burness Paull, will talk about charity mergers, from a legal perspective and will consider some of the common drivers for mergers in the charities sector as well as some of the hurdles encountered. Emma will also guide us through a ‘typical’ merger process and highlight some of the possible structures that a merger might take.
