James specialises in advising multi-generational and multi-jurisdictional families on their investments, family governance, wealth preservation, and philanthropic strategies.

Experience

Having begun his career at Citigroup in 2005 as part of the Mergers & Acquisitions team in Frankfurt, he joined Evelyn Partners in 2016 following the acquisition of Thurleigh Investment Managers where he was a Senior Portfolio Manager.

Along with the day-to-day management of investment portfolios, James is also one of the firm’s research specialists with responsibility for Global Equity funds.

Notable client work and achievements

James sits on both the STEP Worldwide Council and the CISI International Committee. He is also an Ambassador for the Diversity Project.

Since 2015 he has been repeatedly ranked in Spear’s 500, Private Client Global Elite, Citywealth Leaders List and PAM Top 40 under 40 lists of leading private client advisors. He is the first advisor to be ranked in all four.

James was awarded Wealth Professional of the Year at the 2018 Magic Circle Awards, Investment Manager of the Year at the 2016 Citywealth Future Leaders Awards and Outstanding Individual of the Year at the 2020 Awards. He has been shortlisted as UHNW Manager of the Year at the 2022 Spear’s Wealth Management Awards.
