Tilney Bestinvest hires Alan Edwards as Head of Investment Management, England

Tilney Bestinvest, the award winning investment management and financial planning group, announces that it has hired Alan Edwards as Head of Investment Management for England. In this newly created role, Mr. Edwards will take overall responsibility for the firm’s investment management teams based in London, Liverpool and Birmingham. Mr. Edwards, who will be based in Liverpool, will also sit on the group’s Executive Board.

Tilney Bestinvest is one of the UK’s leading investment managers serving private clients, intermediaries and charities. Following completion of the firm’s recently announced acquisition of Ingenious Asset Management, the combined group will manage £11.2 billion in discretionary accounts*.

Mr. Edwards is a leading figure in the wealth management industry in the Northwest of England and joins Tilney Bestinvest from Julius Baer where he has been a Managing Director. Prior to this he was Head of Barclays Wealth’s regional business in Manchester and Liverpool. He has also previously held senior positions with Coutts and HSBC. Before entering the financial services industry he was a professional rugby league player.
