Leading wealth management and professional services group Tilney Smith & Williamson is continuing to recruit new talent during the COVID-19 crisis. The latest addition is Johnross Busby-Cartwright-Owen who joins the Guildford team as a financial planner for Tilney Financial Planning Ltd.

Johnross has worked in the industry since 2008, holding various roles within the high net worth advice space. Most recently, he worked as a senior financial planner at Aviva, specialising in clients approaching or in retirement. Prior to this he spent over 10 years at HSBC as a premier relationship manager.

Prior to their merger in September 2020, both Tilney and Smith & Williamson successfully migrated to a remote working model ahead of the first lockdown in mid-March. Teams are currently working from home, with investment managers’ and financial planners having full access to group systems through secure technology.

Lee Matthews, partner at Tilney Financial Planning, said: “During the pandemic, the Group has continued to hire talented financial planners across the country, and I am delighted to welcome someone of Johnross’s calibre to our team. Following the acquisition of HFS Milbourne, our team is ideally placed to serve the needs of all of the HNW individuals throughout Surrey. Over the last 12 months the Guildford office has grown significantly and this continues to demonstrate our commitment to building the best Wealth Management business not just locally but also nationally.”
