Tilney for Intermediaries, the discretionary investment manager for intermediaries, can announce that from 19 August the group’s nine Managed Portfolio Service (MPS)[1] model portfolios will be available for financial advisers to access via the James Hay Managed Portfolio Panel.

The newly-launched James Hay Managed Portfolio Panel offers advisers access to a wide variety of leading discretionary management solutions, representing a cross section of strategies, themes and underlying funds. Tilney’s move to join forces with the James Hay Partnership follows the announcement in May that the firm’s MPS portfolios are also available via the Standard Life Wrap DFM Investment Hub.

The nine Tilney MPS models available on the James Hay Managed Portfolio Panel range from ‘Defensive’ for the most risk-averse to ‘Maximum Growth’ for the most risk-seeking. The models are available for advisers to invest in via the platform at a competitive annual management fee of 0.3% +VAT.

Each of the models make use of the Tilney group’s extensive research, analysis and fund selection and are periodically rebalanced to meet the specific asset allocation for each strategy. The nine models have also been mapped against two leading third-party risk mapping tools; FinaMetrica and Distribution Technology, an important consideration for an adviser’s suitability process.

Miles Robinson, Head of Tilney for Intermediaries, said: “We are delighted to add Tilney’s Managed Portfolio Service models to the James Hay Managed Portfolio Panel, as we take another step in responding to the feedback from the financial planners we work with. Our ambition is to offer our expertise in a fashion that is complementary to the needs of advisers and often significant benefits can be gained for advisers and clients by using a platform.”

“We continue to look at ways of working with financial advisers to offer them the most convenient and cost efficient way of accessing the highest level of investment services for their clients. Our objective is simply to behave in a manner that leads to a better outcome for advisers and their clients.”
