This tool will help you determine whether the plastic packaging you manufacture or import counts towards the 10 tonne per annum registration threshold and whether it is taxable.

NOTE: PPT is based on components, not the packaging of a product as a whole. For example, in the case of a plastic water bottle if the bottle, cap and label have any plastic in them then they are assessed separately. Also, if the water bottles are packed (e.g. put into a pack of six) with a cardboard bottom and then covered in plastic, the plastic covering the pack will have to be assessed as a separate component. But you would not use the tool to assess the cardboard bottom provided it is made of zero plastic.
