Charity Fraud Awareness Week Event Glasgow

Evelyn Partners and Burness Paul are delighted to partner with the Fraud Advisory Panel to host a free to charities two-hour event, with speakers from across the private, public and charity sectors presenting topics designed to promote collaboration and protect charities from fraud.

Topics taking place during the event include:

• An update from law enforcement: Speakers from Police Scotland will explore the current threats and trends that are affecting charities.
• Threats from within: This panel will explore the risks facing operational charities. Experts will discuss the case of a trusted staff member defrauding the charity they worked for and what we can learn from such events.
• Threats from beneficiaries: Getting money to important and sometimes life changing work can be at the centre of a charities mission. This panel of experts will explore the risks that face charities when granting money as well as ways to mitigate them.
• The cyber threats: This panel will scan the current cyber landscape and explore the current threats that are being seen. They will also look at the specific risk to charities and steps that can be taken to protect charities.
