Westminster Homecare is a specialist provider of care services to elderly and young adults. It operates a network of branches throughout London and the South of England delivering care services to over 3,500 service users, enabling them to remain independent in their homes for longer.

Smith & Williamson worked with the shareholders of Westminster to find a new home to support its continuing growth and strengthen its position as a leading CQC registered provider of domiciliary care services.

Care at Home is a privately owned, independent family business providing a range of care services to clients in their own homes, under several brands including Care at Home Services, Beech Tree Total Care, Domus Live-In Care, and now Westminster Homecare. Combined the Group will be one of the largest providers of homecare services with over 3,700 staff operating from 28 branches delivering homecare to the community and also care in 18 extra care facilities.

Brian Livingston, Head of M&A for Smith & Williamson, led the transaction supported by Stuart Goodman, Philip Barker and Conor Pritchard.

Sushil Radia, CEO of Westminster Homecare said “Having known the Smith & Williamson team for many years, we chose to work with them because they have a strong track record in healthcare and understood our business. We were delighted with our choice as Smith & Williamson rolled up their sleeves, anticipating and meeting challenges along the way. This “can do” attitude was key in finding the right party and achieving a deal that met our needs.”

Brian Livingston, Head of M&A for Smith & Williamson, said “Family-owned entrepreneurs need advisers that recognise their businesses is different and don’t just use the same process irrespective of their structure. It is fundamental for them to be able to run their business and to run a process. Understanding this balance is crucial to achieving a successful process. We are delighted to complete another healthcare transaction building on our success with the recent sales of Millbrook Healthcare and The MOLE Clinic. We wish the team every success in the future.”
