Recording details

The UK R&D tax relief regimes have been the subject of several consultations since 2020.These consultations have resulted in reforms effective from 1 April 2023, 8 August 2023, and 1 April 2024.

The intended aims are to:
- Modernise the categories of qualifying expenditure
- Refocus funding towards R&D undertaken within the UK

During the recording we will:

- Provide an overview of the R&D landscape
- Discuss recent changes including the merger of the SME and RDEC regimes
- Feedback on HMRC’s scrutiny and increased compliance checks
